To Blog or Not To Blog

Here's my dilemma. I have a lot to say, but I don't make the time to say it. During the week at work, I sit in front of the computer almost all day. When I get home, I avoid the computer. On weekends, I also tend to avoid the computer because there is too much other fun stuff to do. So blog or no blog? It's a question I am in the process of answering.

If I make the time to blog, I have plenty of customer service (or lack of ) stories to tell. I have stuff to say about managers, leadership and work environments. And I have stuff to tell about my life in general -- but who cares about my back except for me? I do think it is valuable information for other people with back pain. I have physical therapy stories, Rx drug stories and more. So, where do I start?

Well, I can't start right now because it's football time - Go Titans!

Customer Service - where is it?

I'm a stickler for customer service. That's why I changed my web site. I had been using Startlogic for several years. A couple months ago, they experienced some downtime. The downtime was not the real problem -- it was how they responded to their problem. For quite a while, I could not even contact them. Finally, when I got through I was told it would be fixed in a couple hours. To make a long story short, they overpromised and underdelivered. It was down for about 4 days. They provided no information, no updates and were not friendly. Every time I try to contact them I had to sit on hold for 30 to 60 minutes. It was time for me to leave.

I switched to GoDaddy as my web hosting company. So far, I've been impressed. When I have had to call, they have answered within minutes. They responded quickly to e-mail questions and they volunteered to help me walk through my issue -- even though most even somewhat IT educated people could have figured it out on their own. So GoDaddy has my vote for customer service right now.

Like I said, I'm a fanatic about customer service. More on that later. But now, I'm off to see my parents. They live in their RV and travel around the country. They just got to Raleigh and are spending 2 weeks here. Since I don't know how quickly they'll be back, I plan to devote a lot of the next 2 weeks to them.

My first try at blogger

Since I changed web hosting companies, I was forced to re-post my web site. So, I updated the site and decided to add a blog. I will write more after I get everything published and working. There's a lot to talk about. I hope you will enjoy the future of Candy's Blog.
